At head of title, "(Copy)". "Surveyed January 1854 by Edmond DeClew, Cayuga February 15th 1854". Contrary to the transcription of the handwritten signature, the surveyor is likely Edmund DeCew. A similar subdivision plan is described in Joan Winearls, Mapping Upper Canada 1780-1867, entry B954, p. 688: "[W.A.] 'Park's Survey,' lot IX, 1st con, twp Barton; Wentworth St to Sherman Ave, Barton St to Ontario St, G.W.R. [Great Western Railway], Sherman's Inlet east of city". McMaster's copy has Sherman's Inlet spelled, "Shiermans Inlet".

This southwest segment shows the Great Western Railway, and numbered lots between Land Street and Empire Street. Land Street was named after Robert Land, one of the earliest settlers in the Hamilton area (Dictionary of Hamilton Biography, v. 1). Written along the left edge, "No 103 Drawer 4". Includes some handwritten notes which are not entirely legible.
