Detail, grid and contours grey; all trenches (British and German) with names red.

Manuscript on face: Secret. Copy - B Coy [8th Royal Dublin Fusiliers, 16th Div], 29/10/17. WCC [Willie Conarchy?]. Markings for diversionary attack of 16th Div timed to coincide with start of Battle of Cambrai (20th November 1917): Centre Division, Inter-Divisional Boundary, Inter-Brigade Boundary in blue-black ink; approx British Front Line in blue crayon; Intermediate Objective in red ink and crayon; Reconnoitring Patrols in red ink and red pecked crayon; First Objective in green crayon; Second Objective in blue pecked crayon; Third Objective in blue and brown pecked crayon. Pencil markings W of Fontaine: Raid 23/X [23rd October]. Some modern ball-point additions by brother-officer of original user.

Manuscript on reverse: Lt. Col. Healy. The 8th Royal Dublin Fusiliers was in the Northern Brigade of the Centre (16th Irish) Division in this attack, in which the 3rd +amp; 16th Divisions captured the Hindenburg Support Trench.
