Printed map. "Constructed & engraved by J. Bartholomew Edinr." Includes insets: Chart of the territories, discovered & examined by the searching expeditions under the command of Cap. Austin & Cap. Penny 1851; and, Beechey Island, site of Sir J. Franklin's winter quarters 1845-1846. In upper right margin, "XLV-I." Probably originally published in Black's General Atlas of the World, new ed. (Edinburgh 1859) [based on Winearls' description of McMaster map RMC_107371] and likely taken from the same original source. Acquired as part of the Hodsoll Collection.
