In upper right corner, "No. 4." Shows Upper Canada, Lower Canada, and the Atlantic Provinces. Map is surrounded by text under the broad heading, "British Possessions" and further subdivided by sub-headings, "Lower Canada. Situation, Boundaries, and Divisions" and "Upper Canada. Situation, Boundaries, and Divisions" and these sub-headings are then subdivided further.
Described in Catalogue of the National Map Collection, vol. 10, H6/1100-[1815]-(1823), p. 699-700: "This map was first published in A Complete Historical, Chronological and Geographical American Atlas, fol. Philadelphia, 1822, no. 4, by H. C. Carey and I. Lea." For another copy, see McMaster map RMC_2571. Acquired as part of the Hodsoll Collection.
