"Published as ye Act directs, Feby. 1st. 1780 by Wm. Faden Charing-Cross." Visual scale, "scale of yards". Oriented with north arrow to the left. Described in Sellers and Van Ee, Maps and Charts of North America and the West Indies 1750-1789, entry 1188, p.255: "Published version of item 1178 [Plan of the position which the army under Lt. General Burgoyne took at Saratoga... 1777]. Shows troop positions, barracks, the ruins of Fort Hardy, a bridge of boats across the Hudson River, Schuyler's house, a church, houses, fields, vegetation, and relief. Oriented with north to the right [sic]."
